When Beyoncé's team invited SEYMOURE to create custom gloves for the Cowboy Carter Tour, it represented a defining moment for our brand. Being invited to contribute to what would become the most significant cultural event of 2025 was both humbling and exhilarating.
At the time, I was living in Bali, immediately considering the complex logistics ahead. With our European manufacturing partners and Los Angeles-based team, coordinating an ultra-custom fit across multiple continents would require precision planning. My background as both a stylist and costume designer has taught me that in high-stakes collaborations like this, excellence isn't optional—it's the only path to future opportunities.
The opportunity came through our PR agency, The Right Now, connecting us with former fashion editor Julia Gall. Julia was the first industry professional to champion SEYMOURE after our launch, making this collaboration particularly meaningful.
Seeing the caliber of brands now creating Mrs. Carter's tour wardrobe reinforces the significance of this collaboration. SEYMOURE—a privately held, female-founded company built through organic growth, sustained purely by craftsmanship, determination, and an exceptional team—now stands alongside the industry's most prestigious names. This milestone reflects years of focused dedication, and achieving it requires continued excellence from every member of our team.
Our Foundation: Mastering the Art of Fringe
SEYMOURE entered this collaboration from a position of strength—we have established ourselves as leaders in luxury fringe glove design. Our signature fringe glove, launched three years ago, has remained a cornerstone of our collection, reflecting our commitment to timeless design over fleeting trends.
Our brand philosophy centers on sustainability across every dimension—materials, manufacturing processes, and design longevity. Rather than chasing seasonal collections, we focus on creating forever pieces that transcend temporary fashion cycles. This approach mirrors the business model of heritage houses, building a legacy through consistent quality and enduring style. We share their commitment to craftsmanship excellence and strategic patience.
The Creative Process
Julia offered us the opportunity to submit original designs with creative freedom, while also identifying existing SEYMOURE styles that could be adapted for the Cowboy Carter aesthetic. Working with our design team, I developed a comprehensive presentation featuring multiple styles, maintaining our brand DNA while introducing two strategic departures.
The first glove look was an easy departure from the SEYMOURE color block runway gloves in red, white and blue. This may not seem like a risk, but never before had I combined red and white leather touching with a blue body. I was imagining the stress of the red leather bleeding onto the white. Not even wearing it, but in the travels of FedEx. Luckily my factory works with the finest leather house in Italy and we were able to find a solution.
The Hero Glove: Stars and Stripes
Our signature piece for this collaboration became "Stars and Stripes"—a white Runway Opera Glove featuring blue inset stars, finished with a red cuff at the bicep and enhanced with extended fringe detailing.
The prototype exceeded our expectations so dramatically that we commissioned a European videographer to document our artisans' specialized techniques. Every SEYMOURE piece receives this same level of individual attention through hand-cutting and hand-sewing processes.
When we received confirmation that Beyoncé had selected 13 of our 16 proposed designs for production, it represented validation at the highest level. SEYMOURE now operates in the same creative sphere as Loewe, Versace, Gedebe, Off-White, Christian Louboutin, Santoni, Roberto Cavalli, Burberry, Schiaparelli, Telfar, Tiffany & Co., and Levi's—a testament to unwavering commitment to excellence.
The Moment We'd All Been Waiting For
With all designs delivered on schedule, we awaited the tour's April 28th opening night. Observing the elaborate brand collaborations throughout each performance, I reflected on fashion hierarchy—typically, accessories complement an outfit rather than defining it, unless the piece itself becomes the statement.
Through multiple concerts, the anticipation built. I had an intuition that London might be the moment, though the uncertainty remained: would our signature fringe gloves find their place among such carefully curated looks?
On the second night of The Cowboy Carter Tour in London, Beyoncé appeared in our Extended Runway Opera with Fringe gloves, styled by Karen Langley in an approachable yet couture ensemble that allowed each design element—including our gloves—to shine equally alongside pieces from other luxury designers. This marked one of her first multi-designer stage looks, and the response was extraordinary.
The styling achieved something remarkable: authenticity within spectacle. Our gloves didn't merely accessorize the look—they completed it. Seeing the SEYMOURE Extended Runway Opera with Fringe become what appeared to be her best-fitting stage gloves to date represents a defining achievement for our brand.
What's Next
As The Cowboy Carter Tour continues across continents, we anticipate which of our remaining designs will take the stage. Will audiences witness the ethereal Nylon Extended Runway with Pearls, the artisanal Suede Hand-Studded Extended Runway, or perhaps the patriotic grandeur of our custom Stars and Stripes Fringe Glove?
Each piece represents a different facet of SEYMOURE's design philosophy, waiting for its moment to contribute to fashion history. This collaboration has established a new chapter for our brand—it represents the realization of a vision where SEYMOURE becomes an integral part of luxury fashion.
